Follow Audio Export (top right hand side) -> Format and select “WAVE.” Then follow Compression/Bit Depth and choose 24-bit. Before exporting the audio file, make sure the WAV file is properly formatted. More transfer methods, like Dropbox and SoundCloud, are available through in-app purchases. Recorded data can be sent in a variety of ways including email and iTunes File Sharing. Afterward, select stereo for two channel analysis. For the best results, select a sampling rate most appropriate for the testing situation.

To start recording, open the app on your Apple product and click the ‘+’ button on the bottom-left portion of the screen. Settings need to be changed, such as saving to 32-bit audio in order to later export 24-bit data. Without specifying the recording device, the iPhone/iPad version will default to the USB audio input – which will be the Digiducer when plugged in.

The iPhone/iPad version of TwistedWave is also available for free on the App Store. WAV file specifications such as stereo capabilities and 32-bit depth can be made available for a subscription fee. For the free version, 16-bit is the closest option. For optimal results, turn off file compression and choose a bit depth closest to 24. Make sure the download settings are also properly selected. Once the desired amount of data has been collected, download the recording as a WAV file.

Just open a new document in TwistedWave’s online version using Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Safari and get started. The online version of TwistedWave has a free, limited functionality version that is easy to use.
